His voice was firm and serious and the three girls suddenly realized that something was wrong. "Aiden's dead, isn’t he?" Brooklyn threw her hands in front of her face, and began to cry. Gregory shook his head, "No, no, it's not that, he is doing quite well, except for a brain trauma." Brooklyn instantly calmed down a bit, but then she looked at him questioningly; "What does that mean?" Gregory was no longer in a position to give her an answer, for suddenly complete despair fell over him like a big wave. He sat down again and buried his head in both hands. Leyla crouched in front of him and took his hands in hers. "What happened, tell me." Because Gregory continued to be silent and only shook his head, Milos rose to speak.
He would tell them what had happened, because he was not emotionally involved in the whole thing and hardly knew Aiden and Mila.
"What he wants to say, but he cannot bring himself to, is that Aiden is doing well, but he has lost his long-term memory and can’t remember any of you."
Brooklyn looked at him questioningly; "You mean he doesn’t remember me? That can’t be. No way."
"Yes, it is even completely normal for a brain trauma, but sooner or later he'll remember. Nobody knows just when it will be.”
Brooklyn didn’t look very shocked, "Then I will help him to remember me again. Guys, this isn’t that bad, at least he's alive, and he’s getting well again, right?" Milos raised his shoulders. "I guess so."
Brooklyn stood up, zest for action, "What are we waiting for, let us go to him." Gregory looked up, and there was endless grief in his eyes.
"Mila and Mikiel are dead."
Brooklyn, who had almost reached the exit, stopped, dumbfounded, and turned around. She looked at Gregory, and clutched her chest. She sank back into the nearest chair. No one said anything, everyone looked at Gregory, who tried to grasp himself; "Sadly it's true, the two of them didn’t make it.
Leyla sat back down beside him again, clearly shocked, and took his hand. "How did it happen?"
Gregory hesitantly explained what had happened, how they were ambushed and had been shot at, Gabe had forced him to go with him, and Mila had tried to punish the guys who were responsible and sacrificed her life in the process.
